Transition Pathways Explorer

The EU wants to become a net-zero economy until 2050. The EUCalc model assesses viable pathways for the member states to get there in all different sectors: transport, land and food, buildings, manufacturing and power.

The Climate Media Factory delivered a clear interface to the complex model, the Transition Pathways Explorer. It allows users to choose a European share of the global emission budget, explore necessary ambition level sets throughout all sectoral levers and member states, design their own pathway and examine consequences and potential trade-offs and synergies.

The Commission rated the project as “exceptional result with significant immediate impact”.
